Colombia VS Mexico FIFA U-20 WORLD CUP

PEREIRA, Colombia - Mexico defeated rigors of Cameroon after a 1-1 draw on Tuesday to move the quarter-finals and the Under-20 World Cup.

Franck Ohandza put Cameroon ahead in 79 minutes in regulation, but Carlos Orrantia equalized for Mexico at 81.

Cameroon lost three of their penalties in the shootout, while Mexico became three.


Mexico goalkeeper Jose Rodriguez stopped Franck Ohandza's shot, then Idriss Nguessi struck the crossbar and Christ Mbondi hit the post to end the contest.

Erick Torres, Ulises Davila Marvin and Pinon all found  the net with Sure Shot for Mexico, whose quarterfinal opponent will be the host country of Colombia, who converted an injury time penalty to beat Costa Rica 3-2 .

"We are pleased, but we are not totally satisfied," Mexico coach Juan Carlos Chavez said. "We know that there is still much room for improvement. 'Was a difficult game, with few opportunities, but here we are, it's time to start thinking about Colombia. It' very special to host".

Cameroon Ohandza put forward by shooting a hard blow to the top of the net just inside the penalty area after receiving a complete transfer Mbondi.

But Mexico has responded quickly and draw Orrantia midfielder from close range for long passages. He dived in feet near the pole to hit the left cross in the network.
