Tampa Bay Dragon Boat Institute hosts a major annual Dragon Boat race in the spring called the Tampa Bay International Dragon Boat Races. This event brings thousands of paddlers from all over the Tampa Bay area and throughout North America, Downtown Tampa to race on the waters of Garrison Channel!
This event raises funds for two charity beneficiaries: patients with breast cancer factors Support Program Moffitt Cancer Center and Florida Aquarium.
In addition to the "Main Event" in the spring, the Tampa Bay Dragon Boat Institute also hosts a Mini racing series throughout the year. These events are very small, informal race to provide local clubs and teams a platform to keep competitive juices flowing, and the rowers and new equipment to gain experience in the water.
Tampa Bay is proud to host the 10th IDBF World Dragon Boat Racing Championship, designed for 1 to 7 August 2011. It is a sunny side to this west coast of Florida community, which makes it real hot spot among the destinations of the world.
Of course, there are a lot of water, sand and sun. But you will also discover an area that is alive with art, sports serious-minded, always planning a party or a parade, and filled with just-in-Tampa Bay places to visit, activities and sights to see. The World Championship Dragon Boat Racing 10 IDBF be held at Tampa Convention Center, the race course Seddon Channel, downtown Tampa, Florida, 1-7 August 2011.
The opening ceremony held Tuesday, August 2, 2011 with the championship race from August 3-7. The competing teams are expected in Tampa between Friday and Monday, 29 Juillet August 1
